Balance Your Ego

We all have egos, and it is something you cannot possibly run away from and having an ego does not mean you automatically are doomed or do not know how to balance it. However, a lot of us do not know when to check or balance our ego. Part of the caLm philosophy is to learn to separate your ego to make decisions to ensure you have reflected enough to make a sound execution on movement.

Ego's are not all bad, and egos are healthy when balanced. After all, our egos help propel us into our areas of passion, where least movement happens easily because of ease of flow and less restriction.

We use our ego's in life all the time, and we use it to move us through work, family life, and in general, the use of ego can be healthy and a way to propel us to successes and achievements.

Ego, however, is like any other drug or substance which can cloud your mind. With moderation ego is again healthy, it is when you allow your ego to take over your overall vision and judgment when your mindset skews and rational thought becomes cloudy.

We all have an ego if you run into someone who says they do not have one, run the opposite direction!

When you are a fueled 100% by ego, you become egotistical. Simple. You are instantly blinded and closed off to anything other than the fuel feeding your ego. We have all seen where someone's ego drives one off course and causes a real struggle. Imagine if we could take a moment to ask a simple question, what is the actual outcome of my action and path to this destination. Destinations are the point of conclusion and or waypoints to accomplishments and goals.

Sometimes taking a slice of that good old humble pie do you wonders!

So when is ego worth exercising and using?  When you can balance it!

Balance is the right mindset when it comes to ego. Do not overplay your ego, and most people do not like cocky people, you do not want to have that label. Playing the balance between ego is the key to helping you reach destinations while not destroying the road behind, or possibly, in front of you. When you move, you also want to ensure you are not causing a massive wake of destruction.

Balancing is like any learned skill and takes much practice and a lot of trial and error. You do not come right out the gates and win, and it could happen, however likely you need to train, prepare, and exercise your balancing skills to use ego usefully and without abuse.

Abusing an ego will certainly isolate you and perhaps surround you with like-minded people, who are ego-charged and driven, and thus not in your favor. With caLm, we state "Choose You," however please understand that "choosing you" does not and is not meaning to be egotistical and or a selfish person. "Choose You" means understanding your inner self, the core of who you indeed are and what makes you an extraordinary person.

Balancing your ego is about mastering to check it, sometimes you serve no need and or purpose to present ego into a discussion and or situation. We all like recognition in some shape or another, however, you do not always need to have a spotlight shines on us at all times, and if you do, I would highly recommend some serious self-reflection.

In closing, check your ego or balance your ego. It is a practice of balancing and attention to the awareness that will successfully navigate you to a health ego.
